My first shot at programming the MX-700 - very easy to do. What I'm adding is finishing the ATI computer remote for ATI video cards.

Marvin G.'s Theater

I have a fairly clean setup, with the right bank of 5 buttons essentially cloning the 5 remotes being replaced, plus a single START button (lower left) for family use. The START button opens a page of macros with appropriate power on/off and inputs. The controls, macros and punchthroughs are such that all functions now work as the wife/kids expect them to respond. A special thanks to Matt H. for getting me started on some basics!

Darin Cline's Setup
Added by Darin Cline | 2004 | 8,862 views
Not yet complete. The main purpose of this file is to show the use of press & hold macros. Each device button on the main menu is a press & hold macro... press normally, and the required components turn on & get set to the appropriate settings, and the remote is switched to that device page. Press very quickly (0.1 seconds) and the remote switches to the device page, but none of the macros are run. For me, this is more convenient that the standard method of bypassing the macros by holding down the MAIN button while hitting the device button. Press & holds are also used in the TiVo and DVD devices to combine multiple commands into one hard button... FF becomes forward skip if you hold it for more than 0.2 seconds, RR-rear skip, play-1 minute jump, pause-slomo. Also, the power off on individual devices turns off only that device if you press less than 0.1 seconds, or the whole system turns off if you press normally (more than 0.1 seconds).

Mitch G's Family Friendly Setup
Added by Mitch G. | 2004 | 7,388 views
Using ideas picked up in various places, I created what is generally a family-friendly remote where I use two device buttons to provide displays that say "Watch TV" or "Play DVD" or "Tape Show" etc. When pressed, they go to a simple menu focused on these activities. That simple menu includes a "DONE" button which is used to shut things down when done. The actual devices are displayed on page 2 with a square next to them. This basically tells the non-power users in the house to not push those buttons. Additionally, I have a couple of "Hop 2" commands in there which I use to bounce between devices when I want to, say, watch TV while listening to the radio or a CD.
